MARK C. MORGAN

Mark C. Morgan has a diverse practice, including municipal law, voting rights/redistricting defense, construction litigation, employment law, business transactions, regulatory law, and criminal defense. Mr. Morgan has participated in over 125 trials, more than forty of which were jury trials taken to verdict. Mr. Morgan is a former Jefferson Parish Assistant District Attorney, Special Counsel to the Attorney General, Magistrate Pro Tempore for Gretna City Court, and Judge Pro Tempore for Division B of the Second Parish Court for Jefferson Parish.

Mr. Morgan has been appointed to serve as the Gretna City Attorney, overseeing all legal services to the City. He has served as an adjunct professor at Tulane University Law School, teaching Trial Advocacy for more than 15 years and was the youngest lawyer ever invited to teach at the law school.   Mr. Morgan has been a guest lecturer on post-Hurricane Katrina legal ethics at Golden Gate Law School in San Francisco, CA. Finally, Mr. Morgan represents the cities of Gretna, Harvey, and Terrytown on the Jefferson Parish School Board, and was elected President of the School Board in 2008.

A graduate of Tulane University Law School, Mr. Morgan received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University, and attended high school at the academically renowned Benjamin Franklin Senior High School. While at Tulane University Law School, Mr. Morgan received the James A. Wysoki Award for earning the highest overall grade in Trial Advocacy. He attended Ohio University on an athletic scholarship for swimming, and was honored as an Academic All-American athlete.  Mr. Morgan is the father of four children and an avid triathlete, completing an Ironman event in 2012.
